Jesus begins to preach around AD 26. The Temple falls in AD 70 — the penultimate judgment. Hebrew national history ends in AD 136, when Bar Kokhba is crushed and Jerusalem becomes Aelia Capitolina. That is the generation he named.

He either kept it, or he did not.

Futurism stretches “this generation” until it constrains no one. Full preterism keeps the time-texts and then folds Bar Kokhba into AD 70. Atavist theology lets Jesus mean the cohort that heard him, and lets Revelation 20 mean the second war. The age that ended is Second Temple Judea. The mountain that remains is Christ’s.
